The 24th International Meeting for Organisers of Pilgrimages, Leaders of Peace Centres and Međugorje Prayer and Charity Groups will be held in Medjugorje from 27th February  –  3rd March, 2017.
 
The theme of the Meeting is:

The Lecturer at the retreat is Fr. Marinko Šakota, the parish priest of Medjugorje
 
Father Marinko Šakota was born in Čitluk in 1968. He completed the elementary school, as well as the first class of the High school in Čitluk. Then he felt the Franciscan calling and went to the Franciscan seminary in Visoko where he completed the second class of the Grammar school, and the remaining two he completed in the Jesuit Grammar School in Dubrovnik where he later graduated. He put on the Franciscan habit on July 15, 1987 in Humac where he spent his first year of the Novitiate. He started studying philosophy and theology in Sarajevo at the Franciscan Theology (1989-1990), continued in Zagreb at the Jesuit College (1990-1992), and he completed his studies in Fulda, Germany, where he graduated in 1995. He gave eternal vows in Široki Brijeg in 1993. He was ordained as deacon in Zagreb in 1996 and as a priest in Frohnleiten in 1996. He first served in Franciscan monastery in Innsbruck where he spent a year as an assistant, then as a spiritual assistant in Frohnleiten, and as an assistant parish priest in Augsburg. He served as the assistant parish priest in Mostar for three years, and was then appointed as the parish priest in Gradnići for seven years. He has been serving as the assistant parish priest in Međugorje since September 2010, and as the parish priest in the same parish since 2013.
 
The 24th International Meeting for Organisers of Pilgrimages, Leaders of Peace Centre and Međugorje Prayer and Charity Groups will be held in the Hall of St. John Paul II in Medjugorje from 27th February  –  3rd March, 2017. The number of places is limited due to the lack of space, therefore we kindly ask you to register your attendances at this seminar as soon as possible. For the purpose of the seminar organisation and your safety, please consider yourself as registered for seminar only when you receive our written confirmation. If you did not receive our reply, it means that we have not received your application and that you are not registered, because you forwarded your e-mail to a wrong address or you have got a virus which blocks your e-mails automatically. Consequently, you may consider yourself as registered for the seminar only if you received a positive response.
 
 
Simultaneous translation will be available for all language groups. The price of the seminar is 50 € per person. This includes all fees for the organisation and running of the seminar (lecturers, simultaneous interpretation and a lunch on the last day). Upon payment at the beginning of the seminar each participant will receive his/her accreditation, which will enable him/her to take part in the seminar activities. Each person should personally organise his/her own accommodation in Medjugorje.
Given that we cannot contact each organiser personally, we ask all organisers of pilgrimages, guides, leaders of Peace Centres and prayer and charity groups to notify those interested in this gathering.

The phenomenon of Međugorje has inspired the publication of a variety of written forms worldwide. We would like to have all these various publications in order to preserve them in the Međugorje Information Center archives. Therefore, we would like to kindly ask you to bring with you to Međugorje or to deliver to us in any other way the following:
1. your magazines, circular letters, newspapers, books, audio and video recordings and other publications – in two copies, if possible
          
2. individuals and organizations that have their own private archives in relation to the events in Međugorje are kindly asked to send originals and/or copies, if possible, and/or at least a list of the contents they have in their possession.
