date: 24.06.2015.

The 24th Peace Walk was held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 on the Feast of St. John the Baptist and on the eve of the 34th Anniversary of Gospa’s apparitions. Many pilgrims participated in this Walk that started at 6.20 a.m. in front of the monastery of St. Anthony in Humac and finished outside the church of St. James in Medjugorje. Fr. Velimir Mandić, guardian of Humac monastery, greeted pilgrims and blessed them before their walk and the walk finished at 10 a.m. with the Benediction conducted by Fr. Ivan Landeka Jr. Olha Slavska from Ukraine participated in this walk and said this is her 15th visit to Medjugorje: „I came here for the first time in 2006, and I recall it was a very difficult personal period for me. My family was about to break up and I did not know how to move on. My friend invited me to come for the seminar of Fr. Jozo Zovko. It was after that experience that my life completely changed. Gospa’s messages from Medjugorje became everyday practice; I began to pray the Rosary, to read the Holy Bible, to go to Holy Mass and to confess every month. I started to feel that Gospa was inviting me to come to Medjugorje every year. We came this year as we wanted to be the part of this Peace Walk. The situation in my country is not easy; there is a war in East Ukraine. We came here to pray with pilgrims from all over the world for peace in our hearts and then in the whole world.” Hubert Liebherr, a pilgrim from Germany, initiated this Peace Walk in 1992. He was horrified with all of the bad things that were happening here in the beginning of the war and together with his friends he initiated this event, believing in the words  of Gospa that with the prayer of Rosary even the wars could be stopped.
