Among the participants of the Third International Seminar for Doctors and Medical Workers in Medjugorje, we had opportunity to meet dr. Danijela De Micheli Vitturi from Split, who is specialising family medicine. Dr. De Micheli Vitturi took part in every one of these three seminars. She said: „The theme of the seminar „Peace be with you“ gives a message that those who come to Medjugorje will receive peace, so they may see where does the restlessness come from, whether it is their personal or in the world around them. As doctors, we are invited to take care of the health of the whole person, we cannot see the person if we exclude her soul.

Jorge Zvala was born in El Salvador, but he grew up in San Francisco. He said that he was just like many of the other young boys and girls of his age. He was far from the Church and he did not know how to pray. “When I had to remember some prayers from my childhood, they would be the Our Father and Hail Mary, but I could not remember the Creed at all. I recall that as a young man I sought happiness.

Many pilgrims have arrived in Medjugorje during the last few days and the largest groups have come from Italy. We were blessed to have Manuel Reato, a 34 year old young man, who comes from Turin in Italy, visit our radio station, as he has been a listener and supporter for many years now. Manuel also brings groups of pilgrims to Medjugorje.

Dr. Massimo del Bene, a surgeon from Milan in Italy came to Medjugorje recently. It was five years ago that he performed the first hand transplant operation on a lady who was 50 years old at the time. His wife had come here first a few years earlier and the two of them made the next pilgrimage together. He said that his faith helped him a lot in his profession.

May is a month which is dedicated to Our Lady in a special way and we are all invited to participate a little more in the evening prayer programme, in the prayer of the Rosary and Holy Mass, so we might thank God for all of the graces we have received. The timetable of the evening prayer programme in May remains the same: the Rosary is at 5 p.m. and Holy Mass at 6 p.m.

We are getting closer to the Fourth Pilgrimage for Persons with Disabilities which will be held in Medjugorje from June 11-14, 2015. The main organiser of the pilgrimage is the Association "Susret" (Encounter), from Citluk, in cooperation with the parish office in Medjugorje and Mother's Village.

The period after Easter is always busy with many pilgrims and our journalist had the chance to talk to a few interesting speakers. Fr. John Fletcher is a member of the community "Friends of the Cross", which is established in Canada. He has been a priest for 14 years now and this is his 11th or 12th pilgrimage to Medjugorje.

The Totus Tuus prayer community has organised the first camp for boys, which was held in Medjugorje from April 24-26, 2015. The prayer community is active in the Franciscan church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Mostar. Damir Musa, a representative of the Totus Tuus community, said that their community had held two camps for girls which proved to be very successful. (photos)

The famous Italian water-polo player, Alex Giorgetti, visited Medjugorje with his national water-polo team and other players. He told us that it was one of his greatest desires to bring his players here, so they would experience the peace and humility which can only be felt here. Mons. Salvador Pineiro Garcia-Calderon, an archbishop from Peru, was in Medjugorje recently. This is his second visit. He arrived here in 2003, for the first time. In his interview for our radio station, Mir Medjugorje, he told us:

Fr. Damir Pavić and YouFra members, 45 of them, who are about to receive the sacrament of Confirmation visited Medjugorje on Sunday, April 19. The purpose of the pilgrimage was spiritual renewal and preparation, with Mary’s intercession, for the sacrament of Confirmation.
