The final preparations for the 26th Youth Festival are taking place in the last few days. This International Festival was initiated by late Fr. Slavko Barbaric in 1990, when about hundred young people and two guitarists gathered in the green tent at the back of the church. The number of participants was increasing each year, and this event became the biggest of all those taking place in Medjugorje. The Festival consists of prayer, testimonies, lectures and testimonies and everything is enriched with the music and singing of the International Youth Choir. Fr. Stanko Ćosić, parish vicar said: „It is really nice and important to see that our young people are connecting their religious and private lives, they are here and they would like to assist with this event and to participate in it. This is natural for them, as they come from families united in prayer with Gospa and God. When they are here, this is reflected in their work and youth from the rest of the world sees that as a beautiful testimony.

During the time of the Youth Festival (except on Sunday) there will be no morning Masses for pilgrims. All pilgrims will attend the evening Mass with the youth.

During the entire Youth Festival, there will be simultaneous translation: Hrvatski, English, Italiano, Deutsch, Français, Español, Portugues, Polski, Slovensky SK, Slovenski SLO, Magyar, Română, Ruski, Česky, Korean, Arabic, Chinese Mandarine, Chinese Cantonese.
