Cardinal Ernest Simoni at the evening Holy Mass in Medjugorje

date: 14.06.2017.

Fr. Marinko Sakota had opportunity to welcome one truly special guest at the end of Holy Mass on Tuesday, June 13, celebrated by Fr. Iko Skoko with 24 priests concelebrating. This was Cardinal Ernest Simoni from Albania, who suffered great deal during the time of the communist regime in Albania. When Holy Father visited Albania in September 2014, Fr. Simoni met with him and publicly shared his testimony. This was one of the most moving moments in the pontificate of the Holy Father, and all media spoke about that. It was because of his life of suffering for Christ and Church, that Holy Father appointed him as Cardinal in Rome in November 2016.

Cardinal Simoni on this occasion briefly spoke to the faithful gathered here and he spoke about Our Lady’s role in the history of salvation and about the immense love towards the sinners.
