Christmas Concert – Little Doves of Peace and Magnificat

The traditional Christmas Concert by “Little Doves of Peace” from Medjugorje under direction of Sister Slavica Kožul took place on the 4th Sunday of Advent, on December 21, 2008, at 3 PM, in the parish church in Medjugorje. As every year, in this concert took part also maestro Đelo Jusić from Dubrovnik, founder and director of the children’s choir “Little Singing Dubrovnik”, the musician who arranged all the songs sung by the “Little Doves of Peace”, and who composed many new songs for them.

For the first time came forward the vocal octet “Magnificat”, which is composed by the girls who used to sing in the “little Doves of Peace”. Under direction of Đelo Jusić, they sung for the first time the song “Magnificat” written by maestro Jusić.

The special guest of this concert was Lucija Hrstić (14) who is writing texts and music for the songs, that she is singing. She sung her song “Time of Glory”.

At he beginning of the concert, Fr. Petar Vlašić, parish priest of Medjugorje, greeted the singers and the audience, and at the end, he wished to everyone happy Christmas and a new meeting next year.

“Little Doves of Peace” consist in more then 90 children. They sung all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and their most important performances were in Sarajevo, in Zagreb and in Dubrovnik. They regularly participate in the meeting of children’s choirs “Golden Harp”.

The concert, in which “Little Doves of Peace” sung fifteen Croatian and foreign traditional and newly composed Christmas songs, was broadcasted by Radio “Mir” Medjugorje, and the animator of the program was Ivana Miletić.

On Sunday, December 28, „Little Doves of Peace“ are giving a Christmas Concert in St. Dominic's church in Split.
