Confirmation in St. James' parish Medjugorje

date: 10.06.2007.

On Saturday the 9th of June, 2007, Mons. Ratko Peric, Bishop of Mostar, visited the Parish of Medjugorje in order to preside over the 11.00 am Holy Mass, during which he conferred the sacrament of Confirmation. This year, 73 young candidates received this sacrament.

The bishop, the priests, the candidates and their sponsors entered the church in procession. Their parents, their relatives and other parishioners filled the church itself, and overflowed out into the open space around the church.

At the beginning of the Mass, Fr. Petar Vlašić greeted the Bishop, and the candidates also welcomed him. In his homily, Mons. Perić encouraged the candidates to live in faith and in the power of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Holy Mass was enhanced by the singing of the Queen of Peace parish choir under the direction of Sister Slavica Kozul.

After Mass, Mons, Peric joined with the Franciscans for lunch, and continued in conversation with them for some considerable time.
