Holy Thursday, April 21, 2011 – On this day when Church remembers institution of Holy Eucharist and Priesthood, it is allowed only to celebrate Holy Mass of consecration of the oil and Holy Mass of Lord’s Supper. Holy Mass of consecration of the oil can be celebrated only by bishop in his cathedral. Therefore, on that day before noon, in Medjugorje there are no confessions and no Holy Masses celebrated. Prayer of the Rosary begins at 5 p.m. and solemn Holy Mass of Lord’s Supper at 6 p.m. After Holy Mass there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and all faithful will have opportunity for silent prayer until Midnight. There is also opportunity for sacrament of Confession from 4 to 6 p.m.
Good Friday, April 22,2011– Friday of Lord’s Passion. In the morning there are no services, nor confession in the Church. The way of the Cross for parishioners and Croatian pilgrims on the Cross Mountain is at 11 a.m. Rosary is at 5 p.m. and service of Lord’s Passion at 6 p.m. On that day, the Cross is in the center, and all faithful are invited to meditate on meditation of passion, death and burial of our Lord. Good Friday is day of strict fasting in the Church. There will be opportunity for sacrament of Confession until service begins.
Note: According to instructions from our Diocese, collections on Good Friday during the Veneration of the Holy Cross are intended for Holy Land.
Holy Saturday, April 23, 2011 – Our Church on this day meditates and prays next to Grave of our Lord. In the morning, there will be no services in Medjugorje church. Rosary is at 8 p.m. and Holy Mass at 9 p.m. There will be confession until beginning of the Holy Mass. Prayer programme is going to be broadcasted through Radio Station “Mir” Medjugorje.
Easter, Sunday, April 24, 2011 – Holy Masses in Croatian language are at 8 and11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
