Journalists from Lebanon in Our Lady's mission

date: 22.01.2012.

Sana Nassar and Sara Chaya are coming from Lebanon. Sana is the founder of the non-profit organisation “Friends of Mary, the Queen of Peace”. The purpose of that organisation is to serve to Our Lady’s messages from Medjugorje. She came to Medjugorje in 1986 for the first time, while in 1996, she organised the first pilgrimage to Medjugorje that was supposed to be just for her family and friends. That pilgrimage turned out to be pilgrimage for the whole Lebanese nation.
Few of them organised pilgrimages that became bigger and bigger with each time. Sana witnesses how more than 40,000 Lebanese came to Medjugorje through the group of forty volunteers. There were more than 300 priests and nine bishops that came along as well. Their office is at Lumiere TV station that is the first Christian TV station for twenty-four Arabian countries in the Near East.
“I have never seen anybody who returned the same from Medjugorje and thanks to dear God we have religious freedom in our country and therefore it is really not hard to be a Christian at this time in Lebanon. We are proud of our faith. Since we are quite famous, all those who would like to come to Medjugorje first come to us.” Sana also added that they do more than just organising pilgrimages: “We also translate books from Medjugorje, even some of Fr. Slavko’s books and once a month we have meetings with all those who had come to Medjugorje when we all participate in three hours prayer programme that is similar to the evening prayer programme in Medjugorje. We also have Novena prior to the Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions when we pray and fast for nine days, and on the Anniversary day we invite all priests who were in Medjugorje to join us. At the moment, we have between 100 and 150 prayer groups in Lebanon that live the prayer programme from Medjugorje either once a week or once a month.” They both emphasised how their goal is to introduce Medjugorje to those who do not have a chance or funds to come to Medjugorje.
