Members of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity in Medjugorje made their promises

date: 20.02.2007.

On Sunday, February 18, 2007, during the evening Mass at 6 pm, members of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity from Medjugorje (FRAMA) celebrated the rite of making their promises. 51 new members were received into the Fraternity, and 34 of them made their first promises “to consecrate themselves during one year to Christ, living his Gospel within the Franciscan Youth Fraternity”. 13 of them renewed their promises for one more year. Young parishioners entered into the church carrying in their hands stones “to build the Church”, saying thus symbolically that every Christian is a living stone to be built into Christ’s building. Their entry into the church was accompanied by the reading of a meditative text. Holy Mass was presided by Fr. Sretan Ćurčić, provincial and national assistant of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity, and concelebrated by 9 priests.

This celebration was honored by the presence of the members of the Franciscan Youth Fraternities and their spiritual assistants from Mostar, Humac, Tomislavgrad, Posušje, Čerin, Čitluk, Gradnići, Široki Brijeg Roško Polje and Kočerin. After the liturgical celebration, there was a fraternal meeting and sharing in the parish hall.

This Holy Mass and the rite of reception into the Fraternity was for them an encouragement to persevere in following Jesus Christ according to the example of Saint Francis.
