Parishioners of Medjugorje parish celebrated the Feast of St. James'

Parish of Medjugorje celebrated on Saturday, July 25th the Feast of St. James the Apostle, its patron saint. Holy Masses in Croatian were celebrated in the parish church at 8, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and central Holy Mass was celebrated in Gaj (Garden) opposite to the ruins of the old Medjugorje church. The main celebrant was Fr. Miro Sego. Traditional procession with the Statue of St. James started from the church at 10.45 and representatives of Bijakovici hamlet carried the Statue this year. During the time of the procession Litanies of All Saints were prayed. For this celebration, parishioners were preparing with three day prayer programme in the church of St. James along with many pilgrims who were here this week. Parish of Medjugorje was founded in 1892 and consecrated to St. James, patron saint of pilgrims. (foto)
