date: 28.12.2007.

In the Mostar church of Saints Peter and Paul, two Franciscan deacons, fra Vjekoslav Milićević from Mostar (serving in Medjugorje) and fra Josip Vlašić from Gorica-Sovići, were ordained to the priesthood on the 26th of December 2007, the feast of St. Stephen, the first martyr.

The Holy Mass and ordination was celebrated by Mons. Ratko Perić, Bishop of Mostar, in concelebration with the Franciscan Provincial and 44 other priests. Fr. Ljubo Kurtović, Secretary for Education and Instruction in the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, presented the candidates to the bishop. The celebration was attended by the parents, relatives and friends of the candidates, by the faithful who came from their native parishes and the parishes where they are currently providing pastoral service, together with a large number of the faithful from Mostar itself. The seminarians of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province who are studying in Zagreb also attended the solemn occasion in Mostar. Novices and postulants, together with their educators, also attended. After the ordination, the celebration continued in the refectory of the Franciscan monastery. (See: http://www.franjevci.info)
