On Sunday, June 25th, the solemn celebration of the 36th Anniversary of Our Lady’s Apparitions was held in Medjugorje with many pilgrims participating. Apart from all those pilgrims that came from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were pilgrims from Ecuador, Columbia, Uruguay, Panama, Guatemala, Uganda, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italia, Poland, France, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Korea, Lebanon, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, Ireland and England. Many pilgrims arrived walking to Medjugorje, all to fulfil their vows and thank for the graces they received. Priests were at disposal for the sacrament of confessions ever since the early morning. During the day, in the parish church, at the White Dome and in the Adoration Chapel, there were 21 Holy Masses celebrated, 7 of them in Croatian language.
The central evening prayer programme began at 6 pm with the prayer of the Rosary and continued with the Holy Mass at 7 pm. Fr. Damir Pavic, Secretary of Bosnia Argentum Province, was the main celebrant of that solemn Holy Mass, along with 191 priests concelebrating. The celebration was more beautiful thanks to the singing of the Medjugorje Choir “The Queen of Peace”, conducted by Sr. Irena Azinovic. Medjugorej parish priest welcomed everyone at the end and addressed them with the words of gratitude for all of the graces we had received.
The evening prayer programme was live broadcasted by radio Mir Medjugorje and web site medjugorje.hr, with many domestic and foreign journalists. (photos)
