The 6th International Pilgrimage for Persons with Disabilities began in Medjugorje on Thursday, June 15, 2017 by the gathering and the evening prayer programme held at the White Dome of St. James' church. Fr. Slavko Soldo led the prayer of the Rosary, while Fr. Ante Vuckovic, celebrated the solemn Holy Mass, with 41 priests concelebrating. This pilgrimage is held with the theme  „That your love may increase ever more (Phil 1, 9) „In Our Lady’s School“, and this year, the greatest number of participants gathered, around 2000 of them. The largest number is from Croatia, around 1000 of them, then Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Slovakia, Russia, Latvia, Ukraine, Poland, France and Italy.

The Association “Encounter” from Citluk is the main organiser in the cooperation with the parish office and Mother’s Village. Paula Tomic, the member of the Organisation team for Pilgrimage for Persons with Disabilities, just before this event gave her statement and said: “I can see in all those messages and contacts how people receive huge graces, big light and many gifts – this is so important for persons with disabilities! What is special about this Pilgrimage is that parishioners of Medjugorje parish are providing accommodation. Many thanks to them, as once again they have shown their open hearts, compassion and availability.” The idea for this type of a pilgrimage came in 1998, from Sr. Rastislava Ralbovsky along with the community of persons with special needs from Djakovo.
