The Evening with Josko Marusic

 „The Evening with Josko Marusic“, the university professor, cartoonist and the author of many animated movies shall take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 7:30 pm, in the Hall of John Paul II in Medjugorje. The evening shall be accompanied by the singing of the vocal female group „Mir“ from Medjugorje.

Josko Marusic is engaged in strips, cartoons, illustrations, literature, theory of animation, but the central point in his work are his own animated movies.

He is considered to be one of the most important authors of the Zagreb School of Cartoons and he was awarded on many occasions for his movies at the most important world Animation Festivals.

He writes theoretical articles on animation in the magazines Croatian Film Journal and Vijenac. His articles on history and theory of animation have been published in several journals and books.

He illustrated around thirty children’s picture books and schoolbooks.

He won a prize of Zagreb City in 1996 and was awarded the highest and the most important culture prize – the Order of the Croatian Daystar (Danica) with the image of Marko Marulic.
