The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was solemnly celebrated in Medjugorje, with many foriegn and domectic pilgrims who arrived for this occasion. Most of the pilgrims were youth, who arrived walking to Medjugorje during the night and solemn morning, when they confessed and took part in Holy Masses.
The first Holy Mass in Croatian language was celebrated at 6 am, followed by Holy Masses at 7, 8,9, 11 and solemn evening Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Ivan Macut, member of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer from Split, with 87 priests concelebrating. Many pilgrims also climbed Hills in Medjugorje, while priests were at disposal for the sacrament of reconciliation.
According to the information registered in Information Office, groups of pilgrims arrived from the following countries: Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, England, the United States, Spain, Korea, Ukraine, Ireland, Canada, Slovakia, Lebanon, Czech Republic, France, Hungary and Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. 15 Holy Masses were celebrated in other languages on that day.
