Parish of Medjugorje is preparing for celebration of their patron saint St. James that will be solemnly celebrated on Friday, July 25. Every night prior to this Feast, along with the regular evening prayer programme, there is special event that takes place every night. On Monday, after the evening Holy Mass, the concert of the parish choir of the Queen of Peace was held in the Hall of John Paul II. The parish priest, Fr. Marinko Sakota, greeted everyone present at the beginning of this concert and thanked members of the choir, as well as their guests Jakov Colo and David Parkes. Prof. Katja Krolo Sarac accompanied them on piano, and all present had opportunity to hear various music pieces performed by this choir who has been serving in the life of this parish for the last 24 years. Two songs, written by Sr. Irena, who is conducting this choir at the moment, were also performed and those are “Into Thy Heights” and “Oh Heaven, far Heaven”. Sr. Irena Azinovic has been conducting with this choir since 2010. At the end, she thanked all who came at the concert: “I would like to use this opportunity to thank all who are supporting the work of our parish choir, our parish priest Fr. Marinko as well as the families of our choir for their understanding. To be here in Medjugorje is a huge grace, but also responsibility and to persevere in all is certainly not easy. That is why I thank God and dear Gospa for all these wonderful people that I work with. Huge help in our work is our dear professor Katja and I would also like to thank our dear guests at this concert, David and Jakov, for having accepted our invitation and enriched this concert with their singing.”
