The programme of the 25h Youth Festival in Medjugorje continued on Saturday, August 2. The morning programme had two testimonies: Fr. Marinko Sakota, the parish priest from Medjugorje and Manuel Reato. Manuel is 33 years old and comes from Ivreo in Italy. He is a disabled person that despite his disability has been coming to Medjugorje since 1990. After his encounter with Medjugorje, he decided to start learning Croatian language all by himself. He testified that his life was completely changed here because he found the meaning of his cross here. For years, he cooperates with the Information Centre “Mir” Medjugorje and since 2004; he translates in Italian many books as well as the news on the official website –www.medjugorje.hr. He also graduated at the Faculty of Theology (summa cum laude) and places all that into the service of Our Lady, the Queen of Peace and Her plan in Medjugorje. Immediately prior to his last arrival to Medjugorje, he passed the driving exam, but came by bus with his group.
During the afternoon programme, there were two testimonies and one of them was given by Charbel Maroun, who is part of Marian movement that organised visit of Vicka, the visionary in Holy Land. He studied in Rome and came to Medjugorje on many occasions. Two choirs performed – “New Life Community” from Nazareth that accompanied Vicka’s visit in Nazareth and choir from Lebanon that sings during the encounters of Medjugorje prayer group in Lebanon. The other testimony was given by journalist Karolina Vidovic – Kristo from Croatia. She began her journalist career at the Croatian National Radio & Television in 1996. In 1998, she was the youngest news editor ever at the Croatian Television, as well as the second editor of the central news. She became wide famous after December 29, 2012, when in one of her independent research shows called “The image of Croatia”, she spoke openly about the real background of the global sexual education in schools that was being forcibly introduced into schools and even kindergartens. In the episode called “Paedophilia as the foundation of the sexual education?”, she presented the excerpt from movie about the American sexologist Alfred Kinsey that reveals how he obtained information in his researches through paedophiles, and his literature was being recommended in sexual education booklets in Croatian schools. Due to the information that this journalist revealed, she was suspended from her work within a few hours time and her serial was cancelled. The whole case caused many disputes in the public, but she received support from other individuals and organisations through many letters of support, petitions and support facebook pages. (photos)
