The Special Envoy of the Holy See arrived to Medjugorje

date: 30.03.2017.

After arriving to Sarajevo and paying visit to Mostar, the Special Envoy of the Holy See for the parish of Medjugorje, mons. Henryk Hoser, arrived to Medjugorje in the company of the Provincial of Herzegovina Neretva Province, Fr. Miljenko Steko. On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 29, he was welcomed by Fr. Marinko Sakota, the parish priest, brothers Franciscans, Franciscan School Sisters werving in Medjugorje and gathered parishioners and pilgrims. Children from the parish welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers.

Mons. Hoser then went to the church of St. James and after spending some time in personal prayer, he addressed those gathered in the church, thanking them for their hospitality and invoked God’s blessing at the end on all people. This is the beginning of Mons. Hoser’s mission, entrusted to him by Holy Father Francis. As we know, it was on February 11, 2017, that Holy Father appointed Mons. Henryk Hoser, Archbishop of Warsaw – Prague from Poland, to come to Medjugorje as his Special Envoy. The purpose of this mission is to gain better knowledge on pastoral situation that takes place here, but above all to learn about the needs of the faithful that come here on pilgrimages, and to suggest some pastoral guidelines for the future. His mission is solemnly pastoral. (foto)
