Walked from Switzerland to Medjugorje

date: 10.10.2013.

Fr. Jilles Hodny from Switzerland came to Medjugorje three weeks after he began his journey. He is a parish priest in one valley in Switzerland and he served there for 26 years. It was this summer that his bishop decided to send him to another parish and he decided to come to Medjugorje before his transfer. He came here for the first time 25 years ago. It was just one day trip that did not leave too much impression on him. “It was only later when I started to understand Medjugorje as a place of great graces and a place where Mary is present in the special way. I could have walked to Santiago de Compostella, but I decided to spend three weeks travelling to Medjugorje so I could come finally to our Mother. This was a hard journey, I did not know where would I sleep and spend night, sometimes people would invite me in, but I spent few nights outdoors as well. Fr. Hodny added that Medjugorje means to him so much: “It means the Queen of Peace, prayer; it means to be opened to Christ, to the Word of God. I was impressed when I arrived here and read about the history of Our Lady’s apparitions. I decided to dedicate this journey to Mary because She is a Mother of all priests. I decided to pray also for priests.” He met many kind people while he travelled to Medjugorje.
