THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL PILGRIMAGE FOR PERSONS WITH A DISABILITY

“IN MARY’S SCHOOL”

The 5th International Pilgrimage for Persons with a Disability will be held in Medjugorje from June 9 – 12, 2016. The programme will be held in the Hall of John Paul II, at the White Dome and in Mother’s Village. As part of the programme, those participants who are able to do so will climb Krizevac and there will be the Rosary on Podbrdo for most of the participants (members of the Cenacolo community will take up disabled persons, if necessary).

After discussing the situation of the parishioners in the Medjugorje parish, affected by the consequences of the global geopolitical and economical situation and also being aware of previous experiences involving misuse of free accommodation for pilgrims, the Organisational Board of the Pilgrimage, together with the representatives of the local community of Medjugorje and Bijakovici, have decided to amend some parts of this project, as follows:

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN YOUR APPLICATION: your arrival time, a contact phone number, the total number of pilgrims, the name of the person/child with a disability and the type of disability and the name of one companion who will have free accommodation, as well as the role and duty of other persons who will pay for their accommodation.

The organisers said: “We would kindly ask organisers and leaders of pilgrimages to take account of the genuine needs of those who are registering for the pilgrimage, so all unnecessary conflicts can be avoided.”
