Prof. Andreas Resch passed away

In 1988, he gathered a group of experts (14) in the field of medical sciences and conducted, in Como, Italy, medical and health research on the Medjugorje visionaries.

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Prof. Andreas Resch, a priest, theologian, psychologist and expert in the frontiers of science, died. He was born on October 29, 1934 in South Tyrol and was a member of the Redemptorist order. He studied in Graz and Freiburg. From 1969 to 2000, he was a professor at the Pontifical Alfonsian Academy and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He lectured courses of clinical psychology and paranormal science in America, Japan and Australia. In 1974, he founded and directed the Institute for Frontiers of Science in Innsbruck. He was a collaborator of the Vatican Commission for the Canonization of Saints.

In 1988, he gathered a group of experts (14) in the field of medical sciences and conducted, in Como, Italy, medical and health research on the Medjugorje visionaries. He published the results of his research in the book "Die Seher von Međugorje" - Medjugorje visionaries in 2005. It was the last major research on the Medjugorje visionaries, which was extensively used by the Medjugorje Commission led by Cardinal Ruini. Prof. Resch donated all the research documentation to the Medjugorje Parish Office. The Medjugorje Parish owes Prof. Resch gratitude for his enormous scientific work.
