The premiere of the film 'Follow Me with Your Heart' about Fr. Slavko Barbarić will be held in Medjugorje on June 22nd
On Monday, June 22nd, 2026, the premiere of the documentary film "Follow Me with Your Heart", which tells the story of the life and work of Fr. Slavko Barbarić, will be held in Medjugorje.
The idea for the film was born at his grave in the Kovačica cemetery in Medjugorje, where the Rosary is said every 24th of the month at 2 p.m. On the anniversary of Fr. Slavko's birth to heaven, November 24th, numerous pilgrims walk from his birthplace in Dragićina to his grave in Kovačica. The prayer of the Rosary and reflections at Fr. Slavko's grave are always from the book "Follow Me with Your Heart", after which the film is named.
After the premiere screenings, the film will be donated to the Herzegovina Franciscan Province and the Mother's Village association.
The executive production of the film is by Kadar film and video production from Široki Brijeg. The organizers of the project are Ivica Karačić and Mario Mijatović. The script and direction are by Zdenko Jurilj, the cinematographers were Slavko Knežević, Antoni Čorić, Mirko Pivčević and Tvrtko Bubalo. The film was edited by Tomislav Topić, the executive producer is Tomislav Bubalo, and the producer is Ivica Karačić. The film was produced by the prayer group "Gospa Majka moja" from Međugorje and the Association "Zavjet Gospi" from Čitluk, in co-production with the Information Center Mir Međugorje and local television Herceg-Bosna.
The premiere will take place in the St. John Paul II Hall in Međugorje at 8:45 p.m. For pilgrims from abroad who will be in Međugorje, a translation in their language will be provided.
The film tells the story of Fr. Slavko Barbarić, a priest whose life, spiritual work and closeness to people have left a deep mark on people all over the world. Through testimonies, archival footage and the memories of contemporaries, the film presents his legacy and the messages of faith, prayer and service that still inspire many today.
At the premiere, visitors will be able to make voluntary contributions to the Mother's Village in Medjugorje, one of the greatest works of Fr. Slavko Barbarić. The organizers hope that through this film, the Mother's Village will continue to be helped, as Fr. Slavko did with all his heart.
After the premiere in Medjugorje, screenings of the film are planned in numerous cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and other countries around the world.
