The Lecturer at the Retreat is Jozefina Škarica, MD, born in 1948, married, mother of four, medical doctor. Following the end of her medical studies, she works in Medical center in Šibenik, Croatia. She specializes in school medicine in 1985. In 1993, late Šibenik monsignor Srećko Badurina establishes a Counseling Center For The Young, Marriage And Family in Šibenik, and appoints doctor Škarica head of the Counseling Center. In 2004, after two-year training in Zagreb, she earns a diploma of Family Counselor. In the last twenty years, she has been participating in marriage preparation seminars and held numerous lectures and seminars on marriage, family and child-rearing both in Croatia and abroad.

The Retreat Coordinator is Fr. Josip Stanić.

The Lecturer at the retreat is Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić, the parish priest of Medjugorje. Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić was born in Mostar in 1989. He completed primary and secondary school in Široki Brijeg. He graduated from the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 2017. He was ordained a deacon in Zagreb on February 26, 2017, and as a priest in Mostar on June 25, 2017. As a deacon, he came to serve in Medjugorje, and from his priestly ordination in the same parish, he served as parish vicar until August 2022, when he took over the service of Medjugorje parish priest.

THE 29th INTERNATIONAL SPIRITUAL RETREAT FOR PRIESTS

to be held in Medjugorje from June 29th –July 3rd, 2026

The Lecturer at the retreat is fr.Ante Vučković. Fr. Ante Vučković, OFM, was born in Sinj in 1958, in a large family. He is a member of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer seated in Split, Croatia. He attended and completed studies at the classical secondary school and seminary in Sinj, and he studied Theology in Makarska and Zagreb. He was ordained as a priest in 1983. After serving as an assistant parish priest in Metković and Munich, he studied Philosophy in Munich and Rome where he obtained his doctorate thesis on Dimensions of Hearing of Martin Heidegger. He lectured Philosophy in Rome at the Pontifical University Antonianum and at the Franciscan Theology Faculty in Makarska. He is a retired philosophy professor at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Split. He leads spiritual exercises, seminars and spiritual retreats. He is a spiritual counsellor and advisor. He has published a number of books and his works are published in the professional and other periodicals. He loves books, photography, mountains, sea and riding a bike.

The coordinator of the seminar is Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić.

Many priests are not aware of the existence of this international meeting for priests in Medjugorje. Therefore, we kindly ask all pilgrimage organizers, prayer groups, and peace centers to publish this information in all of the media at their disposal, so that as many priests as possible can participate. As much as possible, we ask you to materially assist priests who wish to come but do not have the necessary means for their travel expenses. We thank you in advance, invoking God's blessing and the blessing of the Queen of Peace on your work.

The parishioners of the parish of Medjugorje provide free accommodation for all priests during the spiritual renewal, as they have done in all of the previous years (half board). We ask all priests who arrange accommodation with their friends in Medjugorje directly, to indicate on their application the name, surname and the telephone number of the family with whom they have arranged their accommodation. Priests who are unable to arrange for their accommodation directly, should indicate this on their application so that we can arrange it for them.

•    Things to bring with you: a small FM radio with headphones, a Bible and an umbrella.
•    All groups participating in the Youth Prayer meeting: please do not arrange or make plans for any other programs during this week.
•    During the time of the Youth Festival (except on Sunday) there will be no morning Masses for pilgrims. All pilgrims will attend the evening Mass with the youth.
•    During the entire Youth Festival, there will be simultaneous translation: Hrvatski, English, Italiano, Deutsch, Français, Español, Portugues, Polski, Slovensky SK, Slovenski SLO, Magyar, Română, Ruski, Ukrainian, Česky, Korean, Arabic, Chinese Mandarine, Chinese Cantonese.
