Holy Thursday, April 17 – This is the day when the Church remembers the institution of the Eucharist and Priesthood and the only Holy Masses allowed to be celebrated are those of consecration of the oil and Holy Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Holy Mass of consecration of the oil in the Catholic Church is celebrated by the Bishop with priests in local churches or cathedrals. Thereby, there will not be any morning Holy Masses in Medjugorje or confessions. Rosary will begin at 5 p.m. and solemn Holy Mass of the Lord’s Supper is at 6 p.m. After Holy Mass, all faithful will have opportunity for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until midnight. Opportunity for confession is from 4 – 5.30 p.m.
Good Friday, April 18 – Friday of Lord’s Passion. There will not be any services or confessions during the morning. The Way of the Cross for parishioners and Croatian pilgrims on Cross Mountain will be at 11 a.m. The evening prayer programme begins at 5 p.m. with the Rosary and service of Lord’s Passion and Veneration of the Cross will be at 6 p.m. Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence in the Catholic Church. Opportunity for confession is from 4 – 5.30 p.m.
Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil, April 19 – On Holy Saturday Church will pray at Lord’s Tomb and continue fasting. There will not be any services during the morning in Medjugorje church. Rosary will begin in the church at 8 p.m. and Easter Vigil will begin at 9 p.m. Opportunity for confession will be from 6.30 – 7.30 p.m. The whole prayer programme will be broadcasted live on radio station Mir Medjugorje.
Sunday, April 20, Resurrection of our Lord – Holy Masses in Croatian language in the parish church will be held at 7, 8, 11 a.m. and at 6 p.m.
