Jenko Vasilj, six of 66 Franciscans from Herzegovina Franciscan Province, who were killed by communists during and after the World War II. We will also remember all victims from World War I and II, as well as from the recent Homeland War from Medjugorje parish. 61 people were killed in the World War I, 386 were killed during the World War II (most of them in May 1945), and 10 people in the recent Homeland War. On Saturday, February 14, 2015, Holy Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. in Mostar Franciscan church of Sts. Peter and Paul, in the memory of seven killed Franciscans from that church. Few of them were originally from Medjugorje parish: Fr. Grgo Vasilj, Fr. Jozo Bencun and Fr. Bernardin Smoljan who was the parish priest in Medjugorje at the time of construction of Cross on Cross Mountain.
