Minister Čobanković visited Medjugorje

Mr. Petar Čobanković, Minister of the regional development in the Croatian Government, visited Medjugorje on Friday, May 30th. He was hosted by Mr. Ivo Jerkić, the Mayor of Čitluk, Fr. Svetozar Kraljević, Director of Mother’s Village, and Fr. Petar Vlašić, pastor of Medjugorje.

They friendly discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Croatia, the attitude of the Croatian government towards the Croatians in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the projects that could help the development of this region.

Mayor Jerkić presented to the hosts the city of Čitluk and expressed his satisfaction about the Minister’s visit to Medjugorje. Minister Čobanković underlined the readiness of the Croatian Government to help the Croatians in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the necessity of strengthening the unity of Croatians in this region.

Together with his hosts, Minister Čobanković visited Mother’s Village and the Community of the Merciful Father, where young men strive to get free of their drug addictions.

Mrs. Marijana Mikulić, the Croatian Consul in Mostar, also accompanied Minister Čobanković and the Croatian delegation.
