The 17th International Seminar for Priests ended

The 17th International Seminar for Priests that gathered more than 400 priests, deacons and seminarians from twenty countries began on Monday, July 9th, in Medjugorje with the liturgical evening prayer programme. Fr. Ivan Sesar, the Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province from Mostar was the main celebrant at the solemn Holy Mass of introduction to the seminar. The seminar ended on Saturday, July 14.
The coordinator of the seminar was Dr. Miljenko Steko, and the theme of this International seminar that will finish on Saturday, July 14 is “Priest – man of faith.” The lecturer at the seminar is Dr.Fr. Ivan Dugandzic. The theme of this international seminar is related to the apostolic letter “Motu Proprio data” – Porta Fidei “The door of faith” of the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI, which he wrote on October 11, 2011 and declared the year of the faith that will start on December 11, 2012. Since the beginning of the year of the faith is related to the memory of the 50th anniversary of opening of the Second Vatican Council, the lecturer referred to the Council documents important for the life and mission of the priests. Besides lectures, the participants also took part in the regular evening prayer programme of Medjugorje parish. On Thursday, early in the morning they prayed the Rosary on Apparition Hill, and on Friday morning they prayed the Way of the Cross on Cross Mountain. The choir of seminarians that participated in this seminar made celebration of Holy Masses more solemn and beautiful with their harmonious singing.
The seminar was simultaneously translated to more than ten languages.
