The 8th International Pilgrimage for Persons and Children with Disabilities finished in Medjugorje

On Sunday, June 9, with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Zvonko Benkovic, the 8th International Pilgrimage for Persons and Children with Disabilities finished in Medjugorje. There were more than 2250 persons taking part in this pilgrimage, and traditionally their accommodation and food was a gift from the parishioners of Medjugorje who also organised banquet for them one afternoon after the lectures.

Holy Masses, testimonies, dances, prayer of Rosary and the Way of the Cross is something that marked this pilgrimage and many of them had their major desire fulfilled when they were taken up in the hands of people and communities from Medjugorje – Mary’s Hands, Cenacolo, Mountain Rescue Service, taxi drivers and many others carried all disabled up to the apparition site. This was surely the most emotional moment of this Pilgrimage when they were brought to their Mother, just like Archbishop Hoser reminded them how “we are all here with our weaknesses of body and of soul. Jesus is the one who gives us strength, but not as we want, it is how He wants. He is the one who gives true diagnosis to us all.”

After Sunday Holy Mass, farewell and departure, many of them anticipate the following year and their coming here again, since for all of them this is the unique opportunity to meet with the people who have same problems, to get to know each other better, but also to be able to come to Apparition Hill, something that is impossible in the ordinary circumstances.
