The last day of the testimonies at the 25th Youth Festival in Medjugorje

date: 06.08.2014.

Salvador Iñiguez Morales from Mexico spoke on the last day in the morning part of the lectures. When he was only 10 years old, his granny spoke to him about Medjugorje and he tried to live Gospa’s messages ever since. His works in medical care in geriatrics and for a long period of time, he has “double life”. During the day, he cares for the old and sick people, and in the evening he “arms” himself with rosary beads and Our Lady’s statue  and goes to the suburbs and most dangerous areas of Guadalahara where he evangelises prostitutes, transvestites and homosexuals through Our Lady’s messages, establishes prayer groups in their neighbourhoods and prays with them, many times in the streets. Usually he approaches a prostitute by saying to her: “How much do you ask?” and once she tells him the price, he says to her: “Has anyone ever told you that you are worth much more, that you are worth every drop of Christ’s blood?” and then he speaks to her about the messages. Two years ago, a Spanish movie director Juan Manuel Cotelo asked him to give a testimony of his life in the movie about Gospa and Medjugorje and he agreed to that. What followed at the end was a major surprise for him because the director gave him a ticket for Medjugorje and he came here for the first time. This year, he was invited to speak at the Youth Festival and influence of Medjugorje on his life as well as of fruits of Medjugorje. Valentina Pavsyukova, from Ukraine spoke afterwards about her experience of life under the communist regime and how they were not able to live their faith. When she was a little child, her granny taught her to pray Our Father. When she was 18, she immigrated to the United States and this prayer helped her a lot in the difficult moments of growing up somewhere far from her home. In 2007, she was strongly drawn to the Catholic Church and she experienced her conversion. It was in Medjugorje where she received feedback on how to live. She wanted to become a missionary and she established humanitarian organisation “Chalice of Mercy” that protects life from the conception to the natural death. Valentina lives in Medjugorje in the prayer community “Light of Mary” and organises pilgrimages for the youth, medical students and mostly for gynaecologists. Fr.Charles Mangano, a priest from the United States spoke in the afternoon. When he was 16, he began to play the guitar in the prayer group. He was ordained as a priest in 1990 in Rockville diocese in the USA. He desires to bring people to God with his music and to help them on their spiritual journey. Today, he is a parish priest in Merrick, New York in the USA. For many years he accompanies pilgrimages to Medjugorje and he consecrated his priesthood to Mary. Bishop for Youth from Switzerland Marian Eleganti spoke as well as the youngest of Medjugorje visionaries, Jakov Colo. Croatian singers Alen Nižetić and Maja Blagdan performed and sang a few songs with him. Fr. Dragan Bolcic led the prayer of the Rosary at 6 p.m. and Fr. Dario Galic was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass at 7 p.m. with 528 priests who concelebrated, while Fr. Ante Vuckovic again gave a homily. (foto); (video)
