Totus Tuus boys camp in Međugorje

date: 25.04.2016.

A camp for boys of the ages from 9 to 14, organised by the prayer community, Totus Tuus, from Mostar, was held in Medjugorje from April 22-24, 2016 in Domus Pacis. There were 14 boys and 8 leaders who took part in this camp. The Totus Tuus representatives from Mostar said that the leaders this year were representatives from several countries, so this camp was also international. “Our brothers from Germany, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina did their best to make this camp a successful and fruitful experience for the boys. As the Feast of Pentecost is approaching, the theme of this camp was Pentecost, the Descent of the Holy Spirit. The whole house decorated in that mode.  We had the flames of the Holy Spirit coming down from the ceiling.  In the middle there was a big dove – the symbol of the Holy Spirit, as it descended on Jesus during His baptism in the river Jordan. We had a big poster on the wall and the children placed small or larger flames on it for every good deed they did during the camp. They were really thrilled by the presentation we had for them on the theme of the Holy Spirit and they strived wholeheartedly to win during the quiz. The prize was a prayer by all of the participants for that child. We praised God in song and in personal prayer. Children also led the Joyful Mysteries and wanted to get to know the events which took place at the beginning of Jesus’ life here on earth. Finally, there was a workshop when the kids were cut out images of the apostles and Our Lady and small flames for the big posters which were around. The kids framed these posters with small pieces of wood and each received a nice present to bring back home. All of the kids were united in their conclusion that they had an absolutely great time here in Medjugorje and said they could not wait for the next camp, which will be held from July 15-17, 2016, also here in Medjugorje. We thank all the leaders, cooks, parents, Franciscan priests and the Catholic Church, whose proud members we are.”
