Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow and his sister Ruth from Scotland came to Medjugorje for the first time as adolescents in 1983. In next to no time, they also brought their parents to the Shrine of the Queen of Peace. In 1988, the whole family MacFarlane-Barrow, with the permission of the Bishop, decided to give over to God the family hotel «Craig Lodge House», to be a place of prayer and a retreat centre.

From October 11 to 16, 250 pilgrims from Ireland and the USA gathered together in Medjugorje for a thematic pilgrimage – seminar about Mary and the Holy Spirit. It was organized by Philip Ryan from Ireland and led by Donald and Patricia Turbitt from North Providence, Rhode Island, USA. After the evening prayer program, conferences concluded the daily program of pilgrimage.
For many years now, Philip Ryan has been accompanying the Medjugorje pilgrims from Ireland. As for Donald and Patricia Turbitt, leaders in the Charismatic Renewal for 30 years, they are married for 41 years now. They have three children and thirteen grandchildren. They have led numerous parish missions and conferences, as well as retreats for men and women, throughout New England, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

From October 4 to 6, 2004, the members of the Hispanic Movement of Centers and Prayer Groups of Mary Queen of Peace, had their annual meeting in Medjugorje. 120 people came from Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, and United States. They were blessed with the company of 9 priests that came with them. It was a profound activity with a great spiritual unity among all who were present.
