We start our fasting and prayer on May 8th, on the Feast of Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces, and we finish the fasting and prayer on June 24th. The apostles were going to meet the whole Christ only after the Resurrection when Jesus appeared to them as the Risen Lord with the wounds he got on Good Friday, when He appeared completely, giving them at the same time the Holy Spirit that would introduce them to the whole truth of all the words He said during His earthly life. Only then the apostles and all other disciples got to know that Messiah had to go through passion and death first to obtain His glory.

Our Resurrection begins when we start to recognise God in man and when we decide to love and to forgive. Before Resurrection takes place, our selfishness and pride need to die within us. When love conquers within us, love ready to serve life, then the Resurrection will take place.

In these days, confession shall take place each day from 4. – 5.30 p.m., and from Monday to Wednesdays from 4.30 p.m. onwards. The prayer programme will be broadcasted by Radio Mir Medjugorje. In Holy Triduum, all priests take part in the evening prayer programme and once the Holy Mass starts, there will no longer be any opportunity for confessions. Parish office urges all faithful to confess prior to Holy Triduum.

After the reflections given by Fr. Marinko Šakota and Fr. Stanko Mabić, Fr. Ante Vuckovic will present us the sixth Lenten reflection. The theme is the Word of God. Fra. Ante said that ‘’countless people have changed their way of life in the encounter with the Word of God and in those moments, sometimes it takes only one word. It is sufficient for me to understand that this word was meant for me and the change takes place immediately’’. St. Anthony the Hermit and St. Augustine are just some whose lives were changed by one word they heard.

The visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo had daily apparitions from June 24th 1981 to December 25th 1982. During the last daily apparition, Our Lady gave her the 10th secret, and told her that she would appear to her once a year, on the 18th of March. It has been this way through the years.

Trials come from God and God is testing our fidelity in trials. The outcome of trials is always a life, God introduces us to life more. Temptations come from devil, satan is tempting us and wants to seduce us and lead into death.
