Klaudija and Zoran Šumić, a young married couple from Žepče, came to Medjugorje on a pilgrimage only four days after they got married. They met during the Neocatechumenal encounters in Žepče, and told us how they want to build Christian family opened for the life. Zoran said they came here to thank the Queen of Peace:

At the occasion of Mother’s Day, five members family Antunovic made their pilgrimage to Medjugorje and they came from Ticino region in Switzerland, while they are originally from Odzak in Bosnia. It is interesting that children and a husband wanted to surprise their mom and wife by giving her this pilgrimage for Mother’s Day.
After having completed religious preparation, 65 children (36 boys and 29 girls), received the sacrament of the First Holy Communion in Medjugorje parish on Sunday, May 29 at 10 am solemn Holy Mass. The main celebrant was Fr. Vjekoslav Milićević, and celebration was more beautiful thanks to the sinigng of children's choir from Medjugorje parish «Doves of Peace».
On Saturday, May 28, 79 young people (44 boys and 35 girls) received the sacrament of Holy Confirmation at the Holy Mass at 10 am in the parish church of St. James. Mons. Ratio Peric, Bishop of Mostar Duvno Diocese, ministered this sacrament to them and the whole service was more beautiful thanks to the singing of parish choir, conducted by Sr. Irena Azinovic. Confession for their parents and godparents was day before, on Friday, May 27. Fr. Hrvoje Miletic, parish vicar, prepared these boys and girls for this occasion.
Summer timetable of the evening prayer programme in Medjugorje will be effective from Wednesday, June 1 until September 1. Rosary will be at 6 pm, Holy Mass at 7 pm, and the schedule afterwards will be as usual, depending on each day. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10-11 pm, and on Thursdays at 8 pm, after the evening Holy Mass.
On Wednesday, May 25, in the Hall of John Paul II, after the evening Holy Mass, the evening on the Holy Land was held. Fr. Simun Sito Coric, Herzegovinian Franciscan, missionary in Switzerland, writer and composer, Fr. Darko Tomasevic, theologian and biblical expert, dean of Catholic Theology Faculty in Sarajevo and Fr. Antonio Sakota, parish vicar in Mostar, participated as the main speakers in this event. (photos)
THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL PILGRIMAGE FOR PERSONS WITH A DISABILITY
“IN MARY’S SCHOOL”
The 5th International Pilgrimage for Persons with a Disability will be held in Medjugorje from June 9 – 12, 2016. The programme will be held in the Hall of John Paul II, at the White Dome and in Mother’s Village. As part of the programme, those participants who are able to do so will climb Krizevac and there will be the Rosary on Podbrdo for most of the participants (members of the Cenacolo community will take up disabled persons, if necessary).
Pilgrims from all over the world are arriving to Međugorje, but it is especially interesting when pilgrims arrive here walking, sometimes for hundreds of kilometres. One of them is Božidar Kelemen from Varaždin, parish of St. Vid. In his interview for radio „Mir“ Međugorje he said that this place of Our Lady is one of the stops on his way to Kotor, where he plans to finish in his devotion to St. Leopold Bogdan Mandić.
Numerous associations for students and former soldiers, as well as prayer communities of youth, started in 2015 Pilgrimage called “Marian Vow for Homeland”. This pilgrimage will go through 18 Croatian Marian shrines, from the east to the very south of Croatia. This pilgrimage will start in Osijek on June 12 and after 1700 kilometres and 75 days of walking, their journey will finish in Dubrovnik on August 25, 2016.
The fourth international seminar for doctors and medical workers held in Medjugorje gathered around 160 participants from 13 countries and was concluded on Saturday, May 7, with celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
