On the eve of Feast of St.Francis, on October 3, Franciscan family throughout the whole world is celebrating the service of Transitus of St. Francis, or "Memoria Transitus" as they also call it. The service was held at the Dome of St. James' in Medjugorje after the evening Holy Mass at 6 p.m., and was led by Fr. Danko Perutina with active participation of Medjugorje Franciscan Youth (Frama). Numerous priests, members of different nationalities, participated as well, accompanied by their groups of pilgrims.

On Sunday, October 4 we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, founder of three Franciscan orders. Parishoners are preparing for this feast with three-day prayer praogramme that begins on Thursday, October 1. Prayer of Rosary in the church of St.James is at 5 p.m., Holy Mass is at 6 p.m. On Saturday after the evening Holy Mass we will have service of Transitus in the church of St. James'. On the very Feast day Holy Mass for members of the Third order will be celebrated at 8 a.m. All parishoners, as well as all those who belong to big Franciscan family are invited to come.
On September 13, 2009, the Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated in Medjugorje, that is traditionally celebrated on first Sunday after the Feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary. Holy Masses in the parish church were celebrated at 6, 7 and 8 a.m. Solemn Holy Mass on the top of the Cross Mountain, in the presence of numerous parishioners and pilgrims was at 11 a.m. and Fr. Mario Knezovic, parish vicar in the parish of Posusje was main celebrant. For all those unable to climb the Cross Mountain, Holy Mass in the parish church was at 12, led by Fr. Tomislav Pervan along with fifty other priests that con celebrated. Evening Holy Mass at the Dome of church of St. James' was celebrated by Fr. Ivan Ivanda with concelebration of 76 priests. (foto)

On Monday, September 14, the time and schedule of liturgical prayer programme in parish of Medjugorje is changing. The Rosary will start at 5 p.m. and Holy Mass at 6 p.m. After Holy Mass prayers of blessings and healing will follow and it will end with third part of the Rosary. The Adoration of Jesus in Blessed Sacrament is on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 to 10 p.m. and on Thursdays immediately after Holy Mass. Veneration of the Holy Cross is on Fridays immediately after Holy Mass. Prayer of Rosary on the Apparition Hill is on Sundays at 2 p.m., and Way of the Cross on Cross Mountain is on Fridays at 2 p.m.

Medjugorje in its pilgrimage reality has never experienced such busy August. Pilgrims in small and big groups are arrriving from all over the world, through various means of transport.Amongst many groups, journalist of Radio station "Mir" Medjugorje, noticed pilgrims on bikes who were glad to introduce themselves: Jeren Karel and Goran Pranjic from Sesvetski Kraljevac in vicinity of Zagreb.
Franciscans of Herzegovinian Province: Fr. Ivan Dugandzic, Fr. Ante Leko, Fr. Berislav Kutle, Fr. Vitomir Musa, Fr. Tomislav Pervan, Fr. Ilija Puljic, Fr. Ljubo Vlasic and Fr. Franjo Vrgoc, member of Province of Bosna Srebrena, have celebrated on Saturday, August 22, the 40th anniversary of their priesthood with the verse from Psalm 32: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Solemn Holy Mass at 7 p.m. was celebrated by Fr. Ivan Sesar, The Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, and the Fr. Tomislav Pervan, one of the celebrants gave the homily.
Dozens of thousands of pilgrims, local and from abroad, came to Medjugorje for celebration of feast of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary. According to the information from Parish Office, on that day there were 21 Holy Masses that were celebrated in the Church, at the White Altar and in the Chapel, all in different world languages, and total of 150 priests concelebrated at those Masses. Parish priest Fr. Petar Vlasic was the main celebrant at the Holy Mass at 11 a.m., and Fr. Miljenko Steko, Vicar of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province was the main celebrant at 7 p.m. Holy Mass.
The Feast of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15th, and many groups of pilgrims from all over the world have already arrived to Međugorje for that occassion. Holy Masses in the parish church of St. James' will be celebrated at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 a.m. and 7. p.m. Due to the large number of pilgrims who will be walking towards Međugorje, we are kindly asking all those involved in traffic to be extra careful on that day.
On Sunday, August 9th, 2009 in the Parish church of St. James’ in Međugorje Fr. Ante Perković, Fr. Oton Bilić, Fr. Ferdo Majić, Fr. Dinko Maslać, Fr. Ivan Kvesić and Fr. Ljubo Krasić celebrated 45 years of their priesthood. Solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Ljubo Krasić, who is at service in Chicago. Fr. Miljenko šteo, Vicar in the Province greeted them at the beginning of celebration congratulating them on their jubilee on behalf of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province and on behalf of Međugorje Parish priest Fr. Petar Vlašić.
20th International Youth Festival, that began in Međugorje on August 1, 2009 with Holy Mass that was celebrated by Fr. Ivan Sesar, Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, ended on August 6, 2009 with Holy Mass on the top of the Cross Mountain at 5 a.m. that was celebrated by Fr. Miljenko Steko, Vicar of Province and around 80 priests have concelebrated at the same Holy Mass. (foto)
20th International Prayer Youth Festival began in Međugorje on August 1, 2009. After the prayer of the Rosary at 6 p.m., young people from around sixty different world countries gave a brief message in their own language, and then parish priest Fr. Petar Vlašić greeted and welcomed all present. Fr. Ivan Sesar, Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscans, celebrated the Holy Mass, and there were 342 priests that co-celebrated while the whole programme was simultaneously translated into sixteen different languages.
